Description

I pointed my scope to the centre of IC 2944 or more commonly called the Running Chicken Nebula to capture those interesting inner objects, clouds of gas and newborn stars. The nebula itself lies around 6500 light-years away in the constellation of Centaurus. Strangely glowing dark clouds called Bok globules float serenely near the middle and are silhouetted against nearby bright stars. The largest of the globules is actually two separate clouds that gently overlap along our line of sight and can just be made out in this image.
